Billy Club

So you want to be a TV star? Well, maybe not star, exactly. But if you hoot, holler or, um, "accidentally" walk in front of the camera, you may make Adrenaline Nation TV's live broadcast of Billy Burnette's 10 p.m. show at 3rd & Lindsley tomorrow night, as in Friday the 19th. Burnette's a rock 'n' roll lifer with strong lineage and cred. The son of rockabilly pioneer Dorsey Burnette, Billy hit the road at age 13 with Brenda Lee and never looked back. In addition to an eight-year, four-album run with Fleetwood Mac, he's written songs Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Rod Stewart and Ray Charles. Burnette will be featuring songs off his latest CD, Memphis in Manhattan. Though he covers a lot of ground stylistically, the rockabilly in his blood is still at the center of his music.
