This week, the Scene issued its Winter Arts Preview, and I noticed that the Matisse, Picasso and the School of Paris exhibit is coming to the Frist March 2. This made me think of "Pablo Picasso" by The Modern Lovers, which is fitting, 'cause Jonathan Richman is coming to Nashville in February. He'll be playing a two-night stint at the Radio Cafe on the 20th and 21st.

For your listenin' pleasure: "Pablo Picasso" - MP3. Even though this was done with the original Modern Lovers, it wasn't released until 1976, after the band had broken up. Richman began playing as Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, but it was a different band, and more acoustic and doo-woppy.
