Monday: Then and Now Nashville

Posted By on Mon, Sep 18, 2006 at 1:31 PM

Here's a little fun to get you through this partly cloudy Monday. Then: This week in 1985, somebody was checking out the music video for "It's All Changed" by the A&M Records longhairs in Royal Court of China.

Now: Add another punk band to the now long tradition of Nashville punk rock: ladies and gentlemen, please welcome The Cripple Beaters.

Then: They were Nashville's first hardcore band. And now they are on Myspace. Add them and look at their pictures!

Now: Somebody filmed this little movie at 102.9 the Buzz. I'm not sure why.

Then: Archival footage of Nashville kids when they were still skankin' to local high school party bros Habbit, shown here performing at the now defunct 328 Performance Hall.

Now: Franklin middle school metalheads Bryan, Kanan, & Rob storm the Nashville scene with their latest and most irreverent outfit yet, a power trio called LoveFire.

Then: House of Pain fanzine gives away the ep "Our Scene Still Sucks," which features bands like Teen Idols, Lethargic, and Floor. Huh, you want a copy? Get it here.

Now: Nashville techno/electronic duo Jensen Sportag have posted their incredible video for one of their hottest traxxx "Bass Cops".
