One of our favorite trends from 2009a constant flow of new and exciting rap music bubbling up from Nashville's undergroundcontinues in the Big '10 with Young Thees appearance at Music City Mixer 2.0. Young Thee's confident, clever flows and rugged, unpolished beats have all the hallmarks of the burgeoning Music City sound, switching up between menacing Southern minimalism and spaced-out, melodically dense backpacker beats. Sadly, though, Music City Mixer 2.0 is also carrying on one of our least favorite trends: promoting their invited guest list. Seriously, when the list of people that have been invited to your function takes up more flyer space than the performers that are appearing, there is something seriously wrong. Are people really gonna pay their hard-earned money for the off chance that a second-string local celebrity will be in attendance? We don't think so.
