Yung and Ugly, the crew behind the monthly Mashville hip-hop dance parties, are expanding their palette and filling a huge void in our rap scene with their first-ever MC showcase. Not that there’s a dearth of rappers in this city, but open-mics are tedious and MySpace is mind-numbing—the city needs more curators sifting through the bullshit, frankly. Judging by the lineup for this inaugural event, Y & U have got that shit on lock. Scene favorites The Billy Goats and Future (of Biscuits & Gravy) are joined by ATL’s Ricky Raw and Tampa’s Majik Most to bring some serious ruckus.
