Willie Nelson, Citizen Kane, the Grand Canyon and the Mississippi Riveryou gotta see em all before you die. We caught him one year at an unannounced South by Southwest gig, and as word spread on the streets of Austin you could literally watch people stop in their tracks and bolt-ass toward the venue. Hell be at The Ryman, one of the most sympathetic halls in the land for the material on his new CD American Classicand perhaps only for Willie would the albums title register as understatement. His singing is sun-warmed leather, his ease with the songs approaches Zen, and when his spindly guitar work finally surfaces along with Norah Jones on the old come-on Baby, Its Cold Outside, its as stamped with an individuals signature as Django Reinhardts. The record marks a return to the standards-songbook format he adopted so successfully on 1978s Stardusta confounding move at the time. Today, after his excursions into reggae, jazz, blues and swing, it seems as natural as the left turn that always leads you home.

My son and I attended this great concert at the Ryman. Willie did NOT sing the songs from his new album, American Classic.
I am trying to listen or buy one of the songs he DID sing. It was something like, "Devil, you're goin' down". Or something like that.
Unique beat and sound -- unusual, but it grabbed me and I want to hear it again or buy the CD in which it is recorded.
Please contact me via my email if you know the song and/or name of the CD.
