Wildlife Extravaganza Expo in Franklin

Hunt Club

Hunt Club
Channel your inner Ted Nugent—the crazy-eyed “me hunter” one who likes to hunt and fish and boat and get his feet dirty in the Great Outdoors; not the rockheaded, Stone Age Palin-tologist or the fella who likes to swing onto stages wearing little more than a loincloth and a leer—this weekend at the Wildlife Extravaganza Expo at the Williamson County Ag. Expo Park in Franklin. On hand will over 250 booths of Evinrudes aplenty, boat demonstrations, more block and tackle than at a Titans scrimmage and all the shooterly accoutrements you could ever ask for. Middle Tennessee, thanks to its varied geography, is something of a sportsman’s paradise, even as a lot of folks here in Nashville proper are more accustomed to photo shoots and fishing for page views than anything requiring bait or bullets. Which is too bad; it's a lifestyle that, love it or hate it, sustained the people in this region for hundreds of years, helping make possible the bustling burgh we enjoy today. There's a catchphrase the industry uses: “Take a kid fishing.” At the very least, perhaps we should make sure we tell them about fishing, and hunting too. That surf and turf you enjoyed in Green Hills last week didn't off itself, after all. For more information, call 353-1133.
