It wasn’t very long ago that Wick-It was playing so many shows in town that he ended up in every third Critics’ Pick in this here paper. His appearances were so frequent that at one point, we had to start giving him fake nicknames (“Latin Trance legend Señor Wick-i-lito,” DJ Ti-Kciw the Reversible Rampart,” “Wick-It the Pimpstigator,” etc.) just to keep ourselves entertained. But not so much these days — the dude has been jaunting all over the country, playing his patented mash-up and dub-hop from sea to shining sea. Which is kind of a bummer, as we had come to count on the dude to make our weekend pretty much every weekend. But we ain’t mad atcha, Wicki-Wicki-Wicki-Poo! In fact we’re proud as hell that he’s heading out for 41 dates on the Warped Tour, and even more stoked that he’s doing his first-ever solo headlining gig at Mercy before he embarks. Mighty High Coup, White Noise and Quiet Entertainer open the show.
