This space at 106 Harding Pk. has undergone more makeovers than straight guys at the hands of queer guys. First it was Club 106, then P.J.'s Club 106, then Belle Meade Brasserie. The latest incarnation: Whitfield's, is now in its second incarnation, since Nathaniel Beaver took over in 2007, keeping the name but revamping the space and the menu. This is where the tony Belle Meade folks pop out for casual dinner. Expect sturdy portions of familiar dishes that don't need a dictionary to go alongside, for example, trout with grilled pears and filet mignon. The bar fills up on football nights.
