Webb Wilder at 3rd & Lindsley

A Tangled Webb We Leave

A Tangled Webb We Leave
Though he probably dislikes the term “Renaissance Man” almost as much as the notion that he’s a musical “purist,” Webb Wilder’s resume boasts an impressive array of diversified skills. These range from a four-and-a-half year stint as one of the most informative and entertaining DJs on satellite radio to cutting-edge indie films and memorable contributions to excellent releases from Ben Folds, Jason Ringenberg, Farmer Jason and Maura O’Connell. But perhaps most importantly, Wilder's own releases constantly stretch and extend idiomatic boundaries and make listeners rethink rigid notions about what constitutes “authentic” rock ’n’ roll. Wilder’s latest, More Like Me, his first collection of new material in over four years, has both humorous and sizzling numbers and makes an sturdy showcase for his formidable baritone and animated guitar work. He’s also a masterful live performer, with his shows presenting elements of his personality and musical range you just can’t get in a studio setting.
