We Hear...

♦ Traci Peel enjoyed her 15 minutes of infamy during the administration of former Nashville Mayor Bill Boner a decade and a half ago. The high point may have been when she was quoted in the Nashville Banner as saying the mayor was capable of seven hours of lovemaking. The man couldn't manage a city, but he definitely had other talents. Peel and Boner ultimately became engaged while Boner was still married and, in a bizarre sideshow, the duo appeared on Phil Donahue's talk show and Peel sang "Rocky Top." Ultimately, like Boner's other marriages, that relationship crashed and burned. Where is Peel today? An invitation delivered to the Scene last week tells us she is Nashville branch manager for Caesars Entertainment, which is trying to drum up business for its Tunica casinos and is inviting the media to come party. If you're just dying to see her, peek through the windows of the Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Club in the Opryland Hotel this Thursday, from 7-10 p.m., and you might get a glimpse.

♦ Veteran Channel 5 on-air talent Scott Couch has left the station to become anchor of the NBC affiliate in Paducah, Ky. "As you get older, I guess you look for opportunities to advance," he says.

♦ Will Nashville finally have its answer to Austin's Waterloo Records? Grimey's long-rumored move out of its cramped Berry Hill headquarters will happen in early June. The booming indie record store will reopen with vastly more space near Eighth Avenue South and Wedgewood, right next to Steve West's club The Basement. Which is convenient, since Grimey's owner Mike Grimes will reportedly be taking over The Basement's booking.
