Visioneers Screening at Watkins

Burning Man
Read up on the soon-to-be-cult-favorite film Visioneers and you’ll find that it’s “not exactly a comedy.” This comes as no surprise, as Zach Galifianakis, the film’s hirsute star, is “not exactly a comedian.” One of the more daring comics working today, Galifianakis’ best work combines a dark intensity with a boyish sense of wonder that has lead to memorable recurring appearances on the Adult Swim freak-out that is Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! This will be the first Tennessee screening of Visioneers, a low-budget black comedy set in a near future that finds George Washington Winsterhammerman (Galifianakis) reevaluating his bourgeois existence while simultaneously trying not to fall victim to a recent rash of spontaneous human combustion. The screening benefits the local Eric Night Films filmmakers’ collaborative.
