Van Hunt w/Rocco DeLuca

When: Sat., April 7, 9 p.m. 2012
There are not enough adjectives in the world to describe how much we love this man or what exactly his music sounds like — and trust us, we’ve tried. At length. It’s a shame that no one buys books anymore, because we’ve got one ready to go about just how much this dude rules. It’s basically the War and Peace of music criticism, and it’ll never see the light of day. But here’s the short version: Imagine Prince and Zappa jam out to create the best Prog&B soul punk you’ve ever heard. Or maybe George Clinton jumps in with Hawkwind. Sly Stone meets Van Der Graff Generator? Regardless, Van Hunt is making some of the most radical and progressive music on the planet right now. His new Live at The Troubadour 2011 is proof that he’s not just a self-recording studio whiz, although he is. But he’s also an unstoppable force in the live arena.
