Untitled Artist Group's Island of Misfit Art at the Due West Professional Building

I Don't Want to Be a Nitwit

I Don't Want to Be a Nitwit
Untitled Artist Group makes two very tempting claims for their winter show: It will “expose the neglected, glorify the unnoticed and acquaint you with the unfamiliar,” and it will “[give] everyone a chance to purchase an affordable piece of art by local artists…right in time for Christmas!” These guys really know how to push our buttons, because how often is it that you can get exposed to aesthetics of radical subversion and pick out something nice for Grandma all in one night? If that’s not enough, they have even more to offer: a performance by trapeze artist Leela Sophina, “Queen of the Air,” and two contests, “hippest hat” and “tackiest sweater.” Works will represent a mix of new and established artists. The show is one night only, so if you buy something, you can take it home that night.
