For Civil War buffs and historians, the phrase “Five Tragic Hours” immediately recalls an 1864 battle that pitted the Army of Tennessee against Union soldiers right here in the Midstate area. When the smoke cleared, the casualty count piled up to nearly 9,000. While we’ve all walked that bloody ground, the Battle of Franklin doesn’t resonate for most of us like a mention of Shiloh or a reference to a place called Antietam. Heading Back Home seeks to set the record straight regarding the battle and its importance in the Civil War by offering up a mystery story about the remains of an unknown soldier that were found on the former battlefield in 2009. The flick should also get hipster-retro-points for being narrated by Steve Austin … err … Colt Seavers … er … Lee Majors! This screening is followed by a panel discussion.
