Sipping wine and popping M&M’s at the Downtown Art Crawl is a great way to pass a Saturday night once a month. In spite of the throngs of gallery-goers, relatively few people actually buy art there. That’s one reason why 3 Star Syndicate, a recently formed collective of artists, offers Nashvillians “Under 100.” Most exhibits feature a central theme between works, but the only unifying factor for this soiree is the price tag hanging from the picture frames. As the title implies, all works will sell for under $100. Highlights include the eclectic and colorful paintings of former Dixie Dirt singer Kat Brock and the oil paintings of Hunt Adams. The later claims his paintings look like “Francis Bacon takes a Rorschach Test in 1969.” Sounds fun to us.
