Turbo Fruits w/Tesla Rossa, Leopold and His Fiction & Commitment Bells

When: Sat., May 31, 9 p.m. 2014
Price: $10-$12
Though it’s been nearly two years since local rock ’n’ rollers Turbo Fruits released their LP Butter, they’ve been playing in town quite a bit lately. Not as Turbo Fruits, mind you, but rather as their Misfits-covering alter egos Misfruits, pumping out classic horror-punk gems like “We Are 138” and “Last Caress” at events like Fond Object’s Record Store Day festivities and last weekend’s Ton Up vintage bike show at Drifters. But tonight it’s back to the Fruits’ good old-fashioned bikes-booze-and-babes-themed high-octane psychedelic party rock, which they’ve tuned up tight as a snare drum over the past year or so, touring with the likes of Todd Snider’s Hard Working Americans, among others. Tonight, the Fruits end a recent run of dates with local slick, sleek alt-rock quartet Tesla Rossa. Leopold and His Fiction and Commitment Bells will also perform. D. PATRICK RODGERS
