Brian's Songs
When heavy local psych-rock outfit The Turn In split up, guitarist and singer Brian Miles was quick to put together heavy local psych-rock outfit Heathern Haints, whose droning, Jim-Morrison-in-outer-space vibe was nicely captured by local producer Jeremy Ferguson at Battle Tapes and subsequently pressed to a self-titled, self-released LP. When the Haints dissolved, Miles formed—you guessed it—heavy local psych-rock outfit Ttotals. Miles attacks his guitar (and, occasionally, his pedal board) with a wide-eyed ferocity that is both earnest and knowing, and he’s been known to finish his band’s set lying—though not necessarily still—on the floor. If ringing ears and mind-bending noise are part of your recipe for rock ’n’ roll fun, you should probably check this one out.
