Toubab Krewe at Exit/In

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat
There aren’t a whole lot of things that could convince us to drop a big chunk of change and spend five days with a boatful of hippies, but after watching Toubab Krewe's poolside set from this year’s Jam Cruise we might just have to reconsider. It's no secret that we're big fans of the Malian-influenced, Asheville-based instrumentalists, and the idea of seeing them outside with a good strong breeze does seem kinda appealing. (No offense to their fan base, but damn, motherfuckers! Put down the Hacky Sack for a hot second and pick up some deodorant! We kid. Sorta.) Truth be told, as the decade moves on and more people have more access to more influences from around the world, we're going to see an greater blur in the line between hippie and hipster, and, frankly, that's a damn good thing. But lay off the patchouli, please.
