Thundersnake at Exit/In

Get on the Snake

Get on the Snake
It’s a pretty safe bet that when you see a band with "snake" in its name, you’re in for arena-ready rawk with a cuke in its trousers. Thundersnake, the self-described “1980s Hair Metal Tribute Band who loves to PARTY,” certainly continues the trend. Comprised of Rod Coxwell on vocals, Carlos Colebra (a take on Carlos Cavazos from Quiet Riot, perhaps?) on lead guitar, Giani Velocitti on rhythm guitar and vocals, Harley Tatts on bass and Chelsea Chainsaw on drums, Murfreesboro’s Thundersnake mine more than just your typical Poison/Leppard/Winger/Warrent fare, occasionally pulling up rare gems (well-crafted cubic zirconias, perhaps) by Bonham, Britny Fox, Kix, and Faster Pussycat. Is it tongue in cheek? Sure. But it’s done well enough that said tongue, if you’re not careful, might be in your girlfriend’s cheek by the end of the evening. With The Aquanets.
