Playhouse Nashville — a small but dedicated coterie of local drama curators that includes Nate Eppler and Chris Bosen — returns to Street Theatre Company’s venue with a fresh slate of 12 new plays by Middle Tennessee writers. First debuting in 2011, this program offers a choice opportunity for local playwrights to present their works to the community, with the additional benefit of post-show feedback sessions. Local actors interested in participating in this round of staged readings are invited to attend an open casting call and rehearsal on Dec. 8 at noon. In 2013, Playhouse Nashville begins a year-in-residence at STC, starting with the world premiere of Eppler’s new comedy Sextape (Feb. 28-March 10). That will be followed by a Ten Minute Playhouse (April 28-29), a second world premiere production of a new play by a local writer (Aug. 1-11), and a Halloween-themed Ten Minute Haunted Playhouse (Oct. 20-21).
