The Stone Fox's Opening Show feat. Sao Paulo Underground & Cortney Tidwell

When: Mon., Sept. 24, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: $7
The opening of West Side haunt The Stone Fox has been among this year’s most highly anticipated happenings in the hipper-most echelon of the local rock scene. The venue — to be run by local guitar man William Tyler, his sister Elise and a crew of their pals — was initially slated to open on July 12 with a performance from garage-psych badass King Tuff, but construction delays forced that one to be moved to the VFW Post 1970. But now, after acing all of their inspections, stocking their bar and completing their construction, The Stone Fox is reportedly ready to rock, roll and booze their way into the locals’ hearts. This, the Fox’s first open-to-the-public show, will feature a performance from Rob Mazurek’s Sao Paulo Underground, who play jazz- and Tropicalia-infused psychedelia that Rolling Stone called “limitless in its possibilities.” Renowned local post-rock songstress Cortney Tidwell will open.
