New West Side venue, bar, restaurant and hip-as-they-come hot spot The Stone Fox can’t seem to stop giving us excuses to pop in and polish off plate after plate of their dangerously tempting brunch-time chicken and waffles. Damn them. Today between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the Fox will play host to vendors of all stripes, from the vinyl-peddling Third Man Rolling Record Store to comestible dealers Bang Candy and Buttermilk Road Sunday Suppers. Also represented will be Acorn + Archer handmade jewelry, Emily Leonard fine art, Green Bee Baby Bear Shop, DCXV Clothing and Be Simple Massage. Margie Tyler — The Stone Fox’s very own “family matriarch” — will read and sign copies of her new novel Tales From Tumble Inn, and the Foxters say there will even be an activity area for the little ones. When day becomes the night, jams will follow courtesy of new faves Promised Land — who make a Band-meets-Faces-meets-Kinks-meets-Big Star sort of bar-rocking power pop — as well as trouble-making folk duo Birdcloud, pop-rocking showmen Heypenny and more. Reason for the Season Alert: Second Harvest will be there to accept nonperishable food items.
