The Rabbit Art Party at Dirty Eye Warehouse

Bunny for Nothin'

Bunny for Nothin'
The folks behind The Rabbit tout their zine as the "best local arts and culture publication" around. And if their forthcoming issue is as alluring as the release party they're throwing in its honor, they actually might have a shot at claiming that title. Well, maybe more like "second best local arts and culture publication," behind The Scene, of course. The Rabbit and their partners at Dirty Eye Booking have organized quite an impressive soiree featuring the work of ten artists--from painters to installation artists and more--as well as sets from some highly buzzed-about local musicians. Performers include country chanteuse Caitlin Rose and her backing band Hammertorch (who have chops out the wazoo), twangy, blues-based rock four-piece The Hollywood Ten, apparent Modern Lovers- and Costello-phile Evan P. Donahue, roots-rockers The Deep Vibration and indie-pop warriors Heypenny. There will also be Yazoo, Lazy Magnolia and a batch of homebrewed beer, so for the sake of your social standing, please don't be the only square to miss the revelry.
Fri., May 1, 6 p.m., 2009
