On the heels of three of the best contemporary art shows in recent Nashville history, the Old Gym at Vanderbilt University will now play host to something completely different: an exhibition of Old Master and modern prints from Vandy's Anna C. Hoyt Collection. Hoyt's gift established the VU Permanent Collection in 1956, and this show will be the last in the Old Gym before the Gallery opens its new home on the Peabody Campus. Highlights include works by Dürer, Daumier, Picasso and a 17th-century woodcut by Dutch artist Christoffel Jegher that is considered one of the great prints in the history of the medium.
Mondays-Sundays. Starts: March 12. Continues through May 8, 2009
