Producer Ken Bernstein’s intimate black-box space hosts the world premiere of this new play by local writer Rachel Gladstone. The topic is divorce, and the operative word (“petty”) may portend some dark moments, given that the subject is not usually one to give rise automatically to celebration. On the other hand, Gladstone’s work draws its inspiration from her many well-received contributions to a website (firstwivesworld.com) that encourages open discussion of all things good, bad, strange and funny about divorce. Gladstone has channeled that adventurous spirit into her portraits of three modern ladies all confronting major status change. Valerie Hart is the director, and her cast includes playwright Gladstone, Catherine Fleming and Rhubarb Theatre’s Trish Crist.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 14, 5 p.m. Starts: Feb. 12. Continues through Feb. 20, 2010
