It’s not often that pro football, Egyptian history, local theater and global aid join forces for one big party. In fact, maybe it has never happened before. The Perfect 10 ART to Africa fundraiser will raise much-needed cash to send students and staff to build an addition to an orphanage outside Accra, Ghana. The evening will be hosted by former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George and state Rep. Brenda Gilmore. The event takes place at the Tennessee State Museum, so revelers will get the chance to view the
Egyptian Relics, Replicas and Revivals: Treasures from Tutankhamun show in private. The evening’s diverse elements come together as a 10th birthday party for the Amun Ra Theatre (which had a hit last year with founder jeff obafemi carr and George performing Suzan-Lori Parks’ demanding
Topdog/Underdog). So, if you’re a football fan, theater enthusiast or art connoisseur, you can indulge while helping others.
