The Long Players Perform The White Album

Why Don't we Do it in the Cannery?
For anyone in this town who’s had his or her ear anywhere remotely close to the ground over the last five years, local album-oriented cover band The Long Players need no introduction. And for those who have even the most cursory knowledge of rock music, neither does The Beatles’ self-titled ninth album. Messy, sprawling, audacious and all over the place, The White Album is the archetype of the double record—an obligatory chapter in the canon of any legendary band since its release. Even for a group of musicians as skilled at faithful recreation as the LPs, this is an ambitious undertaking. The Fab Four Festival 2009—a three-day conference that will include concerts, panel discussions and memorabilia displays—will feature The Long Players’ performance along with local mop-top tribute acts FAB and The WannaBeatles.
