The Image of the Black Female in Art and Education

Artists' Panel

Artists' Panel
Throughout the month of February, Tennessee State University's Hiram Van Gordon Memorial Gallery is screening Brooklyn artist Aisha Cousins' novel performance-based video project Diva Dutch. And as Black History Month winds to a close, Cousins will join several members of the local art community as TSU partners with Vanderbilt for a panel entitled "The Image of the Black Female in Art and Education." The panel will feature Cousins along with artist and TSU faculty member Cynthia Gadsden, TSU Women's Center co-founder Dr. Jewell Winn and envelope-pushing performance artist and Vanderbilt faculty member Amelia Winger-Bearskin. TSU instructor and gallery director Jodi Hays moderates.
