In the last year, Café Coco's semi-weekly showcase has become a showcase for the city’s burgeoning left-of-center hip-hop scene. The Holla has been the jump-off for some of our favorite local acts, including the snoothcy-bootchy party rap of The Billy Goats and the ethereal boom-bap of Quiet Entertainer, while bringing in the cream of the under-under-underground from across the East Coast and Mid-West. This week's event is hosted by local dreadlock stalwart, mighty scene supporter and silly self-referentialist MC Me a.k.a. I while co-founder Spoken Nerd spreads the word on the road. As of press time we didn't have a lineup, but you can trust us, it's gonna be tight.
