The Green Room Grand Opening

When: Sat., July 27, 2-8 p.m. 2013
The Green Room is the latest development from Matt Urmy’s Artist Growth, a mobile software platform that allows independent artists and management companies to handle all of the tasks of running a band from a smart phone. The Green Room is a multipurpose facility on Gallatin Avenue (behind Barista Parlor) where traveling and local musicians can work on their business (there’s free WiFi), relax before a show, stash food in the fridge, grab a shower or play the house upright bass and acoustic guitar. The space will also host songwriter showcases, open mics, workshops and other events, and will be available for video and audio recording, with companies like Brite Revolution and Our Vinyl providing recording services at low rates. The grand opening will feature informational sessions and networking from 2 to 5 p.m.; from 5 to 8 p.m., there will be musical performances by RB Morris, Sam Lewis, Leticia Wolf and Mockingbird Sun. Best of all: free wine and beer.
