Tennessee Women’s Theater Project keeps ’em coming with another regional premiere that many Nashvillians most likely wouldn’t have seen unless they traveled elsewhere. TWTP will always attract an audience for this fact alone, but fortunately, the company does respectable work as well. This tale of a woman’s battle with depression is in line with TWTP’s commitment to serious drama and strong roles for females. Canadian playwright Jennifer Fawcett’s script grapples with a complicated subject, but treats it with compassion, humanity and humor, while also probing sometimes conflicting mental health factors such as genetics, the use of antidepressants and personal choices. Director Maryanna Clarke’s cast of seven — all making their debuts with TWTP —features a mix of experienced area talent, including leading lady Leah Fincher, Holly Butler, Allison Cutler, Eric Ventress and Lane Wright.
