We’re not doctors, but we’ve met more than one artist who, diagnosed or not, seemed more than a little bipolar. And yet while it’s practically a tradition for creative types to be of capricious temperament, we’ve never heard of a venue that swings as wildly from one mood to the next as LeQuire Gallery. Coming off of their flirting-with-monochrome Influences in White exhibit, LeQuire is pulling a 180 to introduce its new July/August show. The Dark Palette isn’t a behind-the-scenes extra you got with your Dark Knight DVD; it’s a new exhibit of landscapes, figurative narratives and portrait paintings that finds some of the artists presenting a darker view while they all indulge darker hues, bringing an oddly somber sensibility to the summer art season.
