The Contributor Benefit at Downtown Presbyterian Church

Where the Art Is

Where the Art Is
Nashville's first street newspaper—created and sold by Nashville's homeless and a handful of dedicated volunteers—has jump-started a new dialog about homelessness in our city. It's created a gainful endeavor and resulted in a fine publication. If you haven't seen an issue of The Contributor yet, grab a copy tonight and get behind this important project. A silent auction and an art sale will raise funds for the paper, while Mike Farris will provide music and Mr. Mysterio will read your stars and forecast your year ahead. Here's hoping the many among us can remain fortunate enough to assist our less lucky brothers and sisters in 2010. The church will also be holding its regular Gallery Crawl potluck dinner, so bring a dish to pass. Come early. Sometimes there's sushi!
Sat., Jan. 2, 6-9 p.m., 2010
