The Coathangers w/Breast Massage & Roadblock

When: Fri., April 25, 9 p.m. 2014
Price: $10
Not unlike our own Those Darlins, The Coathangers have set aside some of the charming goofiness that marked their first efforts — a nearly inevitable consequence of being a band for eight years is not wanting to have to play “Nestle in My Boobies” every single night — but the tight garage-punk group that emerged still represents all the things that made them Atlanta’s ladies of maximum rawk ’n’ roll. Though they’ve downsized to a trio since 2011’s Larceny and Old Lace, new LP Suck My Shirt rips through fast and loud as ever, feeling like the next chapter of the same story rather than an entirely different book. Also on tonight’s bill is Jake Orrall and “King” Karl Bergman from JEFF The Brotherhood making a duo appearance as Breast Massage, while relatively new local group Roadblock finishes off the bill with a delicious triple-decker slice of controlled garage guitar mayhem. 9 p.m. at The End STEPHEN TRAGESER
