Please don't be selfish. The enjoyment of the circus is not worth what these animal slaves are put through. Boycott the circus until they take the animals out of their show!!!! U.S Department of Agriculture documents reveal the following: Ringling elephants are transported from city to city in caged boxcars 11 months out of the year. Ringling paid a $20,000 fine when a baby elephant died after being forced to perform repeatedly while sick. An investigation into the drowning death of a 4 year old elephant determined that the trainer created behavioral stress caused by the use of a bullhook that led to the drowning. Ringling got a warning from authorities after it shot a caged tiger to death and injured two baby elephants by forcibly pulling them away from their mothers. Ringling has been cited for failing to provide veterinary care, minimum space, exercise, and drinking water and for endangering animals and the public. Ten elephants under Ringling's care have tested positive for a human strain of Tuberculosis. An 8-month-old elephant was destroyed after fracturing both hind legs when he fell from a circus pedestal. Most of Ringling's elephants were captured from the wild. Elephants in the wild walk up to 30 miles per day. Elephants in the circus are shackled up to 96% of the time. When chained, they can only move 3 ft forward or backward.

PETA is so silly. I love animals as much as anyone, I'm even a 12 year long vegetarian, but really? Do you think you're changing anyone's mind? I think you're just in it for the shock value. The only reason anyone took one of your dramatic pamphlets is because they thought they would get to see a nipple. They probably all ended up in the rubbish bin a block away. But thanks for the amusement. Maybe come up with a more intelligent method of obtaining sympathy.

Assuming that's the only reason anyone took a leaflett, then great; PeTA has done their job. They got the information-packed leafletts in the hands of hundreds of people. I, myself, was stunned at all I read about the cruelty that goes on. Elephants don't belong in the circus any more that slaves belong on plantations. It's cruel, and it needs to stop. If you are for animals in the circus, I'm going to assume you support slavery as well. . . taking non-consenting living beings and forcing them to do something they do not want to do without providing proper food, water, care, and exercise & keeping them from their home and family.

What a ridiculous, sexist publicity tactic. How does using a nude, abused female body in place of an animal's accomplish any of their goals? http://www.farinc.org/
