Since New Year’s Eve earlier this year, downtown hipster grease-monkey mecca The Zombie Shop has been transformed into a two-wheel co-op by day and DIY rock venue by night. Local retro-rock revivalist trio Phil Hummer and the White Falcons will slide right in, keeping things seamlessly and appropriately greasy with a revved-up, pomade-drenched rockabilly freakout. Additionally,
Scene contributor Sean L. Maloney will join his wife Mandi in their family band The Maloneys. They blend sleazy garage stomp with Detroit soul and a touch of early ’90s fem twee punk — all executed with minimal finesse and musical prowess. If that sounds scary, worry not — The Maloneys provide immediacy, charm and spirit where those famous Nashville chops would normally wow you. Less-than-Google-able act The Buddies play as well.
