The title may seem boastful, but judging from the artists included, this show may have the bite to back up its bark. Mixed in with pieces by local standouts such as Irene Ritter, Samuel Dunson, Chris Scarborough, Herb Ritter, Robert Durham, Harry Underwood and Rusty Wolfe are works by a few other artists you may have heard of: Salvador Dali, R. Crumb, Man Ray, Howard Finster, Annie Leibovitz, Picasso. (The press release didn't say "Pablo Picasso," so it could be Steve Picasso for all we know.) Most intriguing may be a slew of highly regarded cutting-edge artists whose names are less familiar: filmmaker/photographer Nikki S. Lee, multimedia artist Orly Cogan, experimental filmmaker Cathy Begien, performance artist Marina Abramovic, photographer/videographer artist Jen DeNike, California street artist Chris Johanson and comics-inspired artist Raymond Pettibon (brother of Black Flag founder Greg Ginn). The real fun, though, will be trying to deduce the identity of the anonymous collector. Martha Ingram? Jordin Tootoo? Walter Schatz? Albert Haynesworth? Little Jimmy Dickens? Ronal Serpas? Ming Wang? Jack White? Bart Durham? Eric Crafton? Ronnie Steine?
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Dec. 13. Continues through Dec. 20, 2008
