If a picture is worth a thousand words--and Lordy, we've seen some that ain't (check the back of the paper recently?)--then we should probably just replace this blurb with, like, a tenth of a frame and be done with it. We digress. Wanna see some pictures you could conceivably eke a short story out of? Head thee to The Best of Photography and Film from the George Eastman House Collection, which ends Sunday (gone in a flash, you might say) at The Frist Center. The exhibition includes iconic images such as Mathew Brady's portrait of Abraham Lincoln, Alfred Stieglitz's "The Steerage," Ansel Adams' "Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico" and Edward Weston's "Pepper No. 30" alongside hundreds of other notable images, spanning the photographic gamut from the earliest daguerreotypes to the computer-enhanced collages of today. The Frist is open from 1 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission varies, and an optional iPod-guided tour is available.
