It’s the time of year again when white tents descend on Centennial Park like UFOs. That’s right, put down your knitting needles. The 2010 TACA Craft Fair is fast upon us, so join 45,000 of your closest friends and neighbors for a grass-roots shopping experience. The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists boasts a reputation for some of the finest wares to be found — don’t think “mall craft fair with handmade dolls and wooden blocks.” No, no. The good people at TACA put the “art” in “artisan.” Potters will be busting out their best glazes. Stained glass artists will delight you with their shimmering palettes. Hell, even the Handweavers Guild of Nashville (Did you know we had one?) will be in attendance. So head to Centennial and brave those angry geese. Don’t forget to grab an early holiday gift for mom. Yes, she would love a wooden bowl.
