How not to save your marriage
A woman freaked out when her soon-to-be ex-husband walked away during an argument about their impending divorce because he “did not want to listen to her anymore,” police say. The female suspect, 26, chased the victim outside, where he quickly got into his pickup truck and locked the doors. After breaking the door handle trying to get in the vehicle, the perp climbed into the bed of the truck, opened the rear sliding glass window and went head first through the small opening while reportedly screaming, “I’m going to whip your ass.” Police responded to a 911 call from the victim and arrested the suspect for domestic assault.
Slander in the grass
An officer patrolling near Vanderbilt University noticed a man sitting under a tree on the school’s campus and stopped to check on him because of the afternoon heat. Just as the officer approached, the suspect, 42, began screaming profanities at a woman across the street at a day care where children were outside playing, police say. When the woman looked over at the perp, he gave her the middle finger for no apparent reason. The officer arrested the man for disorderly conduct and trespassing and, “in route to booking, the defendant stated that he had what he believed to be marijuana in his wallet.” Police later found a rolled joint when they searched him, and he was also charged with drug possession.
Pay attention to me!
Police rushed to an apartment on Edmondson Pike after receiving a report about a home invasion. A detective responded to interview the 19-year-old female resident, who police say changed her story several times. Finally, the woman admitted she made up the tale of robbers invading her home because “she felt as if she were not getting enough attention from her boyfriend.” Not amused, officers booked the woman for filing a false report.
