Susan McGrew's ongoing series of landscape paintings of Fiery Gizzard seems to be taking on a kind of 1:1 scale as she produces canvas after canvas, capturing the region's ragged, rugged wild spaces. Earlier paintings in the series have focused more directly on Cumberland Mountain waterways, but this latest collection turns an eye to the Gizzard's 16,000 acres of land that one-third of Tennessee's indigenous plants call home.
