Summer NAMM Public Day

When: Sat., July 14, 10 a.m. 2012
Price: $10-$15
The NAMM Show held each year in Anaheim, Calif., is definitely the Big Kahuna of trade shows as far as the music and record industry is concerned. Its little brother, Summer NAMM, while not drawing close to the same attendance or brouhaha, is still an opportunity for NAMM-affiliated musicians, manufacturers and retailers to grab free swag, party until the wee hours, and learn a bit about improving their chances in an ever-tightening music market. NAMM’s “Public Day” is a great way for non-NAMM members to get some good legit advice on the music biz along with a glimpse of the latest gear-geekery. A mere 15 bucks gets you panels on songwriting, recording technology, working as a session musician, band marketing and social media — along with admission to view the “World’s Fastest Drummer” competition, just to prove they’re not all business.
