Vanderbilt’s Studio VU series brings the larger contemporary art world knocking on Nashville’s door, giving national and international artists and thinkers the opportunity to share their ideas with a local audience, and giving all of us the chance to expand our horizons and consider big questions like, “What is art?” Tonight’s presentation features the Spanish-born, New York-based Antoni Muntadas, a multidisciplinary installation and media artist whose long career has included photographs and videos that reflect contemporary culture and ask what role the artist might play in our world.
