Gents, grab your grandmas and your girlfriends. Bring those lovely lasses down to the Mercy Lounge for a little old-time revelry with a night of square-dancing, featuring the Nashville-based Hogslop String Band. Since forming in 2009, the seven-man band — who play everything from banjo and mandolin to washboard and washtub bass — has charmed folks throughout the South with its boisterous brand of old-time fiddle tunes and charismatic stage presence. Later on that same night, move from square-dancing to close-dancing with “Cousin” Kenny Vaughan, of Marty Stuart and The Fabulous Superlatives. Vaughan recently released his debut solo album
V, which puts his modern spin on vintage guitar tone. Equal parts hillbilly and hepcat, Kenny and his trio are sure to keep you moving long into the wee hours.
