Splices: RA. One, Anonymous, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and more

• Opening this weekend: the 3-D Bollywood blockbuster RA. One, with Shah Rukh Khan (at the Hollywood 27); Rhys Ifans and Vanessa Redgrave in Roland Emmerich's "Fakespeare" drama Anonymous (at Green Hills 16); Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in Bruce Robinson's movie version of the Hunter S. Thompson novel The Rum Diary; Justin Timberlake in Andrew Niccol's sci-fi thriller In Time; and Christina Ricci in the Renaissance Fair comedy All's Faire in Love (at the Hollywood 27), directed by Scott Marshall.

• Free at Vanderbilt's Sarratt Cinema: Mamoru Hosoda's award-winning anime mind-bender Summer Wars, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, as part of the "International Lens" series.

• It really is Halloween night at The Belcourt, where John Carpenter's unmatched 1978 Halloween gets a rare recent big-screen showing. Also playing midnight throughout the weekend is The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but we recommend consulting belcourt.org to see if shows have sold out. Same goes for the ever-popular Boo-lesque at the Belcourt 8 p.m. Saturday, where the gorgeous gals of Music City Burlesque (including Rose Hips, Bebe McQueen, Lux-O-Matic and Freya West) will proffer their pumpkins and jack-o your lantern. Tickets are $20 at the door.

• If evil al fresco is more your speed, Watertown's Stardust Drive-In offers a double bill of Paranormal Activity 3 and Real Steel Friday through Sunday Oct. 28-30. The first feature starts at 7 p.m. Admission $7 adults, $4 kids 6-11. See website for directions: stardustdrivein.com. 310 Purple Tiger Dr., Watertown, 237-0077
