The wordy name of this joint says it all. Buckets of cold long-neck beers are the preferred beverage to wash down the "Southern urban cuisine" here. A favorite refueling spot for weekend Harley riders, the bar is also a popular after-work hangout for music-bizzers. Featured dishes include South Street's famous smoked ribs, smoked pumped chicken and Carolina crab cakes. The second-story treehouse bar is indeed nestled in the branches of a large tree, a favorite not-so-secret clubhouse that's not for members only. Curbside pick-up available.

Today was our first visit to South Street. We were craving one of our favorite meals; raw oysters and beer. Acme in New Orleans and Goatfeathers in South Walton were out of the question. The service at South Street was well above average. David, our waiter, had good suggestions, and seemed to show up at just the right time. The oysters were delecious. We had three dozen, and would rate them close to any we've had anywhere. Our rating is only 4 because this was our first visit to South Street; if our next visit is as enjoyable, it'll be a solid 5.

@Lee "My father ordered a steak..well-done." A true sign that you should stick to eating at home.
I returned to South Street after several years to only to be severely disappointed by the food we ordered.. My parents were visiting from out of town so I wanted to treat them to a "Nashville favorite" and it was anything but that.. Three of us ordered the pumped chicken and it was so dry that after several bites we were all finished. I don't remember the pumped chicken being so unappetizing in the past..My father ordered a steak..well-done. When it came, it very rare, almost raw, and he said that it was the worst steak he had ever had. It was so tough that it was hard to cut. The manager was kind enough to take it off the bill since it took a while to re-cook the meat. Overall, the service was very good and they did try very hard to please...I only hope that this night was an exception. We would hate to end our visits to South Street.
