Snake, Rattle and Roll 

A plethora of low-frequency-minded doom-metal bands have cropped up in the past few years, and bands like Lightning Bolt, the White Stripes and Death From Above 1979 have helped make two-piece bands much more fashionable. You’d also run out of fingers and toes listing bands whose names start with “Black.” But for all the seeming familiarity, Black Cobra aren’t just another pair of dudes playing slowly and tuning their instruments way low. Sure, they do that stuff as well as the best of them, but they can also up the tempo, off-setting the sludge with spidery riffs as chaotic as they are heavy. Local metalgazers Evil Bebos open.
