Shameless Self Promotion

With summer just around the corner, it’s time to take full advantage of Nashville’s cool evenings before the dog days hit. So grab a blanket, pack a picnic basket and hunker down in the shadow of The Parthenon for Nashville Scene and WB58 Movies in the Park. Show times are every Wednesday through July 2 at the Centennial Park Band Shell. See the ad on p. 66 or call 244-7989, ext. 650, for details.... We have a movie sneak this week, and it’s tied in to the June 11 Movies in the Park. If you want to pick up a pass to Legally Blonde 2, then you’ll want to enter our dog/owner look-alike contest. For more info, find the ad in this week’s print issue.... It’s here, get used to it! Nashville Pride Week continues this Thursday, June 5, with Gay Bingo and the Pride Music Showcase at Jaded Mary’s, along with a Bowling Social sponsored by Storms Group. Saturday is the Pride Parade and Festival, followed by the Pride Family Picnic on Sunday. For more details, times and locations, see Nashville Pride’s event guide, inserted in the center of this week’s print issue.... Just because you’re having a ball doesn’t mean you can’t help others at the same time. On June 6, the Nashville Area Junior Chamber of Commerce presents Rollin’ on the River, a night of casino magic aboard the Music City Queen. All proceeds will benefit Family & Children’s Service and NAJCC charities. For more info, call 255-7873.
