Shameless Self Promotion

It’s the perfect time to enjoy the mild temperatures and the extended daylight, and you’ve got two opportunities to do just that this week: First, on April 24, is the Light the Night for Sight walkathon, which raises funds for Prevent Blindness Tennessee. For more information on the event at the Centennial Park bandshell, call 352-0450.... The Great Strides walk, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, takes place on four different occasions during the next few weeks, the first one being this Sunday on the MTSU campus.... Sunday is also when Riders in the Sky perform a special concert and silent auction benefiting Gilda’s Club Nashville and Cooperative Child Care. The event is 2-4 p.m. at Vanderbilt’s Langford Auditorium.... Tennis fans are notified that the Music City Tennis Invitational, benefiting Vanderbilt’s Child Development Center, is this weekend at the Vanderbilt Tennis Center. Visit www.MusicCityTennis.com to find out more.... There is no movie sneak this week, but we’ve got something just as, if not more, exciting: the Nashville Film Festival, running April 28-May 4 at Regal Green Hills Cinema. You can find out everything you’d want to know about this excellent event by reading this week’s cover story.
